ActivoCEO · Business Value

Know what your business is worth, and what moves the number

Value metrics and drivers for your products, your customers and your company, tracked every week.

Revenue and profit tell you how the business performed. Investors and buyers ask a different question: how much value it creates, how durable that value is, and how much of it would remain without you. Start with six numbers you already know and get a free basic valuation.

Performance is not the same as value

A company can be profitable yet hard to sell, or grow fast while burning cash. Another with modest revenue can command a strong price because of predictable contracts, a capable team and a clear competitive position. Knowing the difference changes the decisions you make.

What owners often watchWhat drives valueThe better decision
Revenue growth→Quality of growth, margin and cash conversionPrioritise profitable customers and products

Worked example

Adding £600k of value without adding revenue

An owner-managed business has £2m revenue and £300k EBITDA. Buyers worry that one customer is too large and that the owner runs everything, so it is valued at about 4× EBITDA: £1.2m.

The owner tightens pricing, improves processes, builds a second layer of management, secures longer contracts and reduces reliance on the biggest account. EBITDA rises to £360k, worth £1.44m at the same multiple. If buyers also see lower risk and pay 5×, it reaches £1.8m.

That is two separate effects: £240k from better earnings and a further £360k from a higher multiple. ActivoCEO shows you which actions move which number.
